Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any deposited metal from being separated from a carbon plastic electrode for a metal-halogen battery, and prevent any increase of the internal resistance of the battery by burying a metal material in the surface of the said electrode at the same level as the said surface. CONSTITUTION:A metal-halogen battery is constituted by partitioning an electrolyzer with an ion exchange membrane, placing a positive and a negative electrode in different parts of the electrolyzer partitioned, and supplying and circulating different electrolytes in the positive and the negative electrodes sides. The surface of, at least, the negative electrode, which is a carbon plastic electrode 1, is provided with a metal material 102, which is buried at the same level as the surface of the electrode. The metal material 102 is regularly arranged at given intervals. The electrode 1 is prepared by placing a metal net used as the metal material 102 on its surface, and heating and pressing the electrode 1 by heat press work so as to make the material 102 to be buried in the electrode 1.
