Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the insulation resistance between lead wires and to prevent the corrosion of the lead wire, by filling the gap between the insulation tube of lead wires of an oxygen sensor element and a insulation tube connected with this tube, with a gas sealant and a water-proofing filler. CONSTITUTION:Plural lead wires 116 of an oxygen sensor element are respectively inserted to a through-hole 111 of a insulation tube 110 made of mullite, and connected to the copper lead wire through the soldered part 121 with silver in a through-hole 120 of an insulation tube 119 made of ''Teflon '' in a joint tube 118, followed by passing through a through-hole 125 of a mullite insulation tube 124. A gap 126 between the insulation tube 110 and the chip 124 of the insulation tube is filled with PbO glass and a gap 123 between the chip 124 of insulation tube and the insulation tube 119 are filled with a filler 128 of silicone rubber. The insulation tube 119 and the joint tube 118 are fixed by caulking.
