Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition with high heating efficiency and improved life characteristics, which is prepared by the addition of an inorg. insulant excellent in heat conductivity in combination with an electrical conductivity donor to a crystalline polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A crystalline polymer such as polyethylene or polyvinylidene fluoride is compounded with an electric conductivity donor such as carbon black or a metal powder and an inorg. insulant such as boron nitride or calcium carbide excellent in heat conductivity, to obtain a polymer composition with PTC (positive temp. coefficient). Said composition is suitable for a temp. detector, a self temp.- controllable heating element, etc.
