Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition useful as an electrical insulating material, having high stability to thermal oxidative destruction even in exposure to high temperature in the air, obtained by adding a boron oxide as a stabilizer to an aromatic polyamide.
CONSTITUTION: A substantially linear aromatic polyamide [e.g., poly(m-phenyleneisophthalamide), etc.] having an amide group directly linked to an aromatic group is blended with 0.01W10wt% of a boron oxide. Preferably the boron oxide can be uniformly dispersed and blended in finely divided powder with particle diameters especially about not more than 10μ. Any kind of stabilizer is added.
