Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the thermal head having high density and excellent durability by a method wherein a low-alkali glass layer whose content of sodium oxide and kalium oxide is little and whose softening point is in the specified range is applied on a glazed substrate and a heating resistor and an electrode are provided later thereon. CONSTITUTION:After the low-alkali glass layer whose content of sodium oxide and kalium oxide is less than 1.0wt% totally and whose softening point is within the range of 600-740 deg.C is applied on the glazed substrate, the heating resistor and the electrode are provided thereon. As the substrate to be glazed, a sintered substance whose main constituent is an oxide of alumina, beryllia, magnesia or the like is preferable. As the heating resistor, the one prepared by using zirconium boride, tantalum nitride or the like is preferable.
