Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of a heat insulating box for containing heat collecting plates therein, and to obtain high regidity for the box, by using a rigid foamable synthetic resin to mold a heat insulating member therefor integrally with a frame body and a bottom plate. CONSTITUTION:A press lower mold 1 having an upper projection corresponding to a recess where the heat collecting plates are to be contained is covered with an aluminum foil 2 or the like. The bottom plate 10 is temporarily joined to a bottom support 8 of the rectangular frame body 7 of an aluminum alloy extruded material or the like through sealing members 9 arranged on corners of the bottom support 8. The frame body 7 is turned up side down to be placed on the lower mold 1, so that a closed space A is formed between the frame body 7 and the lower mold 1. Then, a press upper mold 11 and side jigs 12 are arranged, and a raw liquid of the rigid foamable synthetic resin is injected into the space A via an injection inlet 13 in a side wall 6 of the frame body, and then is foamed. Thereafter, the resin is hardened passing hot water through a heating line 5 in the lower mold 5 to form the heat insulating material P, so that the heat insulating box comprising integrally the frame body 7, the bottom plate 10 and the aluminum foil 2 is completed.
