Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain photoreceptor of high sensitivity without degrading its life and cleaning property by dispersing photoconductive powder consisting essentially of a material composed of cadmium sulfide and titanate into an electrical insulation characteristic resin binder. CONSTITUTION:Titanate such as cadmium titanate is mixed with cadmium sulfide powder, and after heat treatment, the mixture is washed and is heated to dry. Then, it is thoroughly dispersed with a ball mill in a soln. of a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer added as a binder, after which it is formed uniformly in the form of a layer on the surface of an aluminum drum serving as a substrate for the photoreceptor by a dipping method, whereby the photoreceptor is obtained. The cleaning property and high photosensitivity possessed by the photoreceptor obtd. in this way are maintained over a long period of time, and the life of this photoreceptor is equal to or longer than that of coventional photoreceptors.
