Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sound casting by controlling the heating temp. at the sprue of dies finely in pressurizing the molten metal in a hermetic furnace and teeming the same into the dies placed in the upper part through a stalk. CONSTITUTION:At the same instant when dies 4 are heated, electricity is conducted to a heater 5 to heat a heater block 7. The output of a temp. sensor 6 is fed to a controller 8, which controls the block 7 to a constant temp. Thereafter, pressure is applied to a heat insulating furnace 1 for molten steel to teem molten steel 2 through a stalk 3 into the dies 4. Solidification begins from the upper part of the dies 4 having no heaters, and when the solidification in the part corresponding to a casting ends, the pressure air is removed and the unsolidified part is returned to the original. In this way, the waste of the molten metal is prevented and the sound casting is obtained.
