Abstract

PURPOSE:To have the mutual connection among the channels excepting a branching circuit without lowering the circuit quality, by performing the branching and inserting of an optional channel signal at the stage of the PCM primary group signal frame of a PCM-FDM mutual converter. CONSTITUTION:A branching circuit 18 extracts a channel CHi for example out of the output signal (PCM primary group pulse train) of a channel converting circuit 6 and sends it to a PCM channel circuit 20. A pulse train equivalent to a non-call state is previously inserted to the position of the PCM primary group pulse train of the branched CHi. On the other hand, the signal of the non-call state is transmitted to a time slot corresponding to the CHi with every PCM primary pulse which is supplied through a PCM primary group input terminal 9 and with the frame synchronization set up by a PCM synchronous circuit 11. An inserting circuit 19 inserts the PCM signals equivalent to a circuit sent from the circuit 20 to the time slot of CHi and delivers the PCM primary group pulse train to apply it to a channel converting circuit 12.
