Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a channel signal due to relay, by generating an audio PCM signal at each channel inserted at a relay station in synchronizing with a PCM terminal station of a terminal station. CONSTITUTION:A PCM signal from a terminal station 1 is separated into an audio PCM signal and a frame synchronism signal at a separating panel 21 of a relay station 2. A synchronizing panel 23 generates a timing pulse in synchronizing with the output of a terminal station 1 by this frame synchronizing signal. In response to this timing pulse, an audio PCM signal from the panel 21 is decoded at a decoding panel 22, and PAM signal of channels 251-25n is changed to an audio PCM signal at a coding panel 26 and inserted to a time slot of the audio PCM signal from the panel 21 at an insertion panel 29. The output of the panel 29 is multiplexed with the frame synchronizing signal at a multiplex panel 27 and transmitted to another terminal station 3.
