Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent seizure and improve abrasion resistance by subjecting a metallic material coated with W, Mo or an alloy contg. W, Mo to a sulfurizing or carburizing treatment. CONSTITUTION:W or Mo or an alloy contg. W or Mo is coated on a metallic material by a method such as plating or melt spraying. The metallic material coated with the W, Mo or alloy is sulfurized by immersing in an sulfide bath or in an aq. soln. of sulfide, or is carburized by a solid carburization or gas carburization method. Mo disulfide, W disulfide or Mo carbide and W carbide are formed in the coating layer by the above-mentioned method, whereby seizure is prevented and abrasion resistance is improved.
