Abstract

PURPOSE:To select a channel which has the strongest level in an area automatically and rapidly, by performing switching so that when an electricfield discriminator generates no output, a voltage with a discrimination level which corresponds to an electric field with a next level is generated. CONSTITUTION:A controller 15 controls a scan within a reception band, and a voltage which corresponds to a received electric field is generated by part of an intermediate-frequency amplification part and detection part 4. This voltage is compared with the voltage of a reference-voltage generator 14 passed through a power-source switch 13 and when the voltage which corresponds to the received electric field is high, a sweeping voltage is stopped to finish channel-selecting operation. When the voltage which stops the sweeping voltage is not obtained by an electric-field discriminator 10, the scan within the entire band is completed, and the controller 15 performs switching so that a next reference voltage is supplied through the switch 13. Similarly, said operation is repeated. Consequently, a receiving station is selected easily among stations in some area having the best reception level.
