Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the balance between the internal and the external pressures of a circulation path continuously at any depth, by filling the sea water in accordance to the differential pressure in the electrolyte circulation system of a cell to be used under pressure. CONSTITUTION:A lithium-silver oxide cell to be used for a submersible vessel is contained in a casing 13 provided with a conducting hole 12 while separating into a generating cell section 1 and an auxiliary containing section for containing the electrolyte circulation system. Then the electrolyte in an electrolyte tank 3 is fed by a pump 4 to the generating cell section 1 and the exhaust liquid is returned to the tank 3 while when required the sea water is taken into the circulation system by a fixed amount pump 5 thus to exhaust the excessive electrolyte through a differential valve 7. When detecting the pressure difference across the circulation system and driving the pump 5 by a controller 11, the pressure balance in the circulation system can be maintained without waiting the inner pressure increase due to the discharge.
