Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate power loss and prevent a ribbon from contamination and damage, etc. by dispersion of dust, on the occasion of heating used section of an ink-holding body provided with coating of thermally soluble ink and cooling it after reproduction, by suspending operation of a cooling means during the time when the ink-holding body stays stationary.
CONSTITUTION: For instance, a printing ribbon 4, which has a film of ink 5 on one side, is stretched on pulleys 6aW6d in tension, and at the same time, it is put through into a reproducing device 16. And, after dissolving and reproducing the ink by making the ribbon 4 contact a heating plate 18, the ribbon 4 is cooled off by a fan 28. At that time, while the ribbon 4 which is an ink-holding body is staying stationary, the fan 28 which is a cooling means is also stopped at the same time.
