Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce titled parts of superior abrasion resistance and durability by forming a porous Ni-P alloy layer on the surfaces of the external parts for portable watches, and melt sticking and joining flourohydrocarbon polymer on the alloy layer.
CONSTITUTION: External parts for portable watches are immersed in an electroless Ni plating bath using hypophosphorous acid as a reducing agent, whereby a porous Ni-P alloy layer contg. 5W15% P on the surfaces of the parts. Next, the surfaces of said porous Ni-P alloy layer are impregnated with an aq. dispersion of a fluorohydrocarbon polymer of ≤2μ particle sizes, after which a heat treatment is applied. According to this method, the hard and porous Ni-P alloy layer and the transparent film of the fluorohydocarbon polymer melt stuck and joined thereto are obtained on the surfaces of the parts. In this way, the higher abrasion resistance of the external parts, the less friction of their sliding parts and higher durability and quality are achieved.
