Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate simultaneous correction of machining errors by using the captioned device which corrects machining errors due to both the thermal expansion of a pole screw and the abration of cutter edge, making correction for the displacement between two points which is detected by a position detector taking the thermal expansion of the screw into consideration.
CONSTITUTION: A feeler 104 is installed to a travelling block 102. Distances from the reference position OR to a pair of standard distance elements 106a, 106b are X11 and X12, respectively. The feeler 104 is initially positioned at the reference position. When the travelling block 102 is then moved, a signal is issued at the moment the feeler 104 touches the standard distance element 106a. The signal is received by a pulse corder 103 which reads the distance travelled by the feeler 104. In the same mannr, the travel distance to the standard distance element 106b is also read. These readings are corrected for thermal expansion of the screw 101 to determine the finishing dimension, and the maching error is calculated from this dimension and the dimension of command, and the position adjusting command is corrected based thereon.
