Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an engine to start readily even at a low intake vacuum during the engine warming or starting period by providing a capillary fuel suction hole with a large-diameter opening on the top within the main fuel injection nozzle tube in the float type carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: In the main fuel injection nozzle tube 6 of a float type carburetor is placed a throttle hole 6a having an enlarged opening 6b on the top and a fuel well 6' at the middle level. The fuel whose normal level is H1 in the fuel chamber 4 rises due to surface tension to a level H2 in the capillary tube, which is located at the bottom of the enlarged opening 6b close to the bottom of the intake passage 2'. This arrangement makes it possible to suck up a sufficient amount of fuel required for starting the engine even when the choke valve is not used and therefore the throttle valve 3 is pulled up so that the vacuum is lowered.
