Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the rate of bulging and improve casting performance by pressurizing molten steel, with an inert gas supplying the same alternately from a pair of tundishes, and drawing the same continuously through a drawing port. CONSTITUTION:With gate mechanisms 11, 12 held closed, molten steel M is charged from a ladle 23 into one tundish 7, and the tundish is hermetically sealed with a cover body 7a, thence pressing mechanisms 17, 18 are operated to connect a gas supply pipe 15 to a gas supply passage 7b.
