Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency and stability of combustion by a method wherein holes for connecting the axial hole zone to the fuel injection passage are provided in a piston of the captioned air-assistor type valve so as to obtain the ejector effect.
CONSTITUTION: The compressed air and the fuel provided from an air supply hole and a fuel supply hole change into atomized mixed gas 19, run through an injection passage 12 and jet in the form of a nearly conical and cylindrical jet 20. The down stream part 23 of the jet 20 reverses in the internal cylinder to form reverse flows 22. On one hand, the opening part 20 of a jet passage 11 absorbs the gas in the connecting holes 15 forcedly by the ejector action in the mixed gas 19. Accordingly, this forced absorption absorbs the reverse flow 22 through the connecting holes 15 to change the jet flows 22 into circulating flows 23. In this manner, the contact between the high temperature gas and the fuel is improved and the efficiency and stability of combustion can be ameliorated.
