Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend the life of the microcomputer for an electronic clock or the like using a C-MOS circuit and a small-size battery, by using the capacitor voltage dividing system of high conversion efficiency to obtain an optional output voltage. CONSTITUTION:A voltage dropping circuit 3 consists of a main capacitor 4, subcapacitors 4a and 4b, and switches 5a-5d and 6a-6d which make the connection relation between the capacitor 4 and subcapacitors 4a and 4b parallel or series. An electronic circuit 2 and a battery 1 are connected to this circuit 3, and the voltage of the battery 1 is detected by a voltage detecting circuit 9. The high level is outputted when the voltage of the battery 1 is high, and the low level is outputted when it is low; and when the voltage is high, the circuit 2 and the battery 1 are connected by a switch 7. When the voltage is low, the logic between the output of a switching pulse synthesizing circuit 8 of the circuit 2 and the detection output of the circuit 9 is operated by an AND gate 10 to output a switching pulse P, and switches 5a-5d and 6a-6d of the circuit 3 are controlled to apply a voltage charged in capacitors 4, 4a, and 4b to the circuit 2.
