Abstract

PURPOSE: To highly precisely control the time for jetting, by changing the opening-closing period ratio of a pressure regulating valve for regulating the pressure in a timer piston high pressure chamber according to the erroneous difference of the time for jetting from the ideal value.
CONSTITUTION: The detected signals from a rotational frequency sensor, etc. for detecting the driving state of the engine are inputted into a controller 14 to calculate an ideal time for jetting most suitable to the driving state of the engine. An erroneous difference of the output value of a timer piston position sensor 15, which acts as a jet time detector for detecting the actual time for jetting, from said ideal time for jetting, and according to this erroneous difference the opening period of the pressure regulating valve 12 is changed to control the pressure in the timer piston high pressure chamber B. Thus, by moving the timer piston 4, the time for jetting is controlled by feedback control.
