Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a high strength and low expansion alloy wire with sufficient corrosion resistance and high productivity by sticking a specified amount of zinc to an Fe-Ni alloy wire contg. a specified percentage each of Ni and C by galvanizing. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Ni alloy wire contg. 36-42% Ni and 0.05-0.4% C is galvanized to stick >=215g/m<2> zinc. This Fe-Ni alloy wire contains 0.5-4.0% Mo, 0.3-2.0% Cr, 0.1-1.5% Si, <=1.5% Mn and <=0.1% each of Al, Mg, Ti and Ca, and it has >=110kg/mm.<2> tensile strength and <=4.0X10<-6>/ deg.C average coefft. of linear expansion in room temp.-240 deg.C in the galvanized state. By substituting Co for Ni by 1.0-5.0%, the coefft. of linear expansion is reduced.
