Fe, Co, Cr, etc. with In2O3 powder, compressing and molding the mixed powder, and repeating plastic working and heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: 75W99.5wt% Cu alloy powder contg. 0.01W1% one or more among Fe, Co and Cr is mixed with 0.5W25% In2O3 powder and compressed. This green compact is sintered in a vacuum or an inert gaseous atmosphere, and plastic working such as swaging and heat treatment in a vacuum or an inert gaseous atmosphere are repeated to form the sintered body into an electrical contact material having a prescribed shape for sealing. By this method the coarsening of the grains of the Cu matrix at high temp. is inhibited, and the contact material with superior melt sticking resistance equivalent to that of an Ag-CdO material is obtd. inexpensively.
