CONSTITUTION:The low carbon, low nitrogen, high chromium steel contg. <=0.0050wt% C, <=0.0100wt% N, 13-32wt% Cr is vacuum-refined with a strong stirring, vacuum ladle degassing, decarburizing installation. At this time, calcareous raw material is charged in the ragne of 4-20kg per ton of the molten steel to the extent of maintaining the slag basicity expressed in the weight ratio of CaO to the SiO2 in slag is kept at <=1.5 in a vacuum, decarburization process by oxygen blowing. Then, the content of silicon in the steel is reduced to <=0.15wt%.
