Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the lifetime of a battery power source by increasing the pulse width of a drive pulse wider than the normal pulse when the voltage of the battery is reduced lower than the prescribed value, thereby accurately driving the pulse motor when the battery voltage is dropped. CONSTITUTION:There are provided voltage detecting means 4 for detecting the output voltage of a battery power source E, and control means for controlling the pulse width of a drive pulse supplied to a pulse motor 20 in response to the output voltage detected by the means 4. When the output voltage of the battery power source E becomes lower than the prescribed value, the pulse width of the drive pulse is set wider than the pulse width of the normal pulse. For example, by using a circuit as shown, the pulse motor 20 is driven by a drive pulse having 128Hz of pulse width at normal time, but when the voltage of the battery E is dropper lower than 1.4V, a voltage detection signal DA is outputted from the detector 4, an FF5 is set, and the motor 20 is driven by the drive pulse having 64Hz of pulse width.
