Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable regulating the light output of each light emitting element and controlling light output with high precision, by putting, periodically in order, light emitting elements of an array light emitting device except one element, in pausing state, and controlling the light output of the light emitting element in light emitting state, in a specified value previously determined. CONSTITUTION:By a driving signal from a controlling part 1, the driving of laser diode elements L2, L3 except a laser diode element L1 is interrupted, during an interval from time Tn to time Tn+DELTAT. At this time, only the laser diode element L1 emits light, and a photo detecting part 15 is irradiated with only the output light of the laser diode element L1. The incident light from the laser diode element L1 is converted into a current signal proportional to the light intensity, and delivered to the controlling part 1, which compares a current signal from the photo detecting part 15 and a current flowing condition signal previously given, and so controls the driving current I, that the difference is decreased. After that, light output adjustments of the respective laser diode elements L1-L3 are repeated at the respective adjusting time points, and the driving current is set to a fixed value. The above operation is repeated for all array laser devices 14, and the light output is controlled.
