Abstract

PURPOSE: To atomize and diffuse an organic solvent with slight electric power by supplying the organic solvent through an electrically conductive cylindrical tube which is arranged on the center axis of an annular electrode and serves as a stylus electrode, and by applying a DC high voltage between both the electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: An electrically conductive cylindrical tube 1 is used as a supply tube for an organic solvent, such as alcohol; and a porous metallic tube 2 which corresponds to a stylus electrode is fitted at the tip of the tube 1 and its tip is blocked with a cover 3. The tube 1 is arranged on the center axial line of an annular electrode 4. Then, the tube 1 is grounded and the annular electrode 4 is connected to a DC high-voltage power source 5; and a high voltage is applied to the electrode 4 while the organic solvent is supplied from the tube 1, and consequently the organic solvent gets fluid by the influence of an electric field to disperse explosively.
