Abstract

PURPOSE:To exercise stable constant-current control when an overcurrent flows by connecting the 1st output obtained by detecting and rectifying the collector current of a diode, the 2nd output obtained by smoothing the 1st output, and the 3rd output obtained by further smoothing the said outputs in parallel. CONSTITUTION:The output waveform of a current transformer 5 is rectified by diodes 16 and 17 to obtain the 1st output. This output is smoothed by a capacitor 20 and compared with a reference voltage 23 and amplified by an operational amplifier 24 to obtain the 2nd output. Further, the output is smoothed by a capacitor 28 and compared with a reference voltage 29 and amplified by an operational amplifier 32 to obtain the 3rd output. Those outputs are connected in parallel, and when an output current increases gradually, i.e. when an overcurrent flows, DC electric power of good quality having a less output ripple voltage within the permissible range of a load voltage is supplied. Further, when the output current increases, constant current control stable enough for the protection of a regulator is exercised to suppress the overcurrent flowing through the diodes 16 and 17 even when the output current increases instantaneously.
