Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a direct proportional conversion between AC input voltage and DC voltage by adding a circuit for compensating the forward voltage drop of a rectifying diode to a main diode rectifying circuit for converting the AC input voltage to the DC voltage.
CONSTITUTION: There are added an insulation transformer 2 for converting the AC input voltage at predetermined transformation ratio, an auxiliary rectifying circuit of a bridge circuit with diodes 3, a current regulating limit resistor 4, and a compensating diode 5 of the same characteristics as the diodes 1 to a main rectifying circuit of a bridge circuit of the diodes 1. Accordingly, the output of the transformer 2 is rectified in the auxiliary rectifying circuit to a DC current to thus take place forward voltage drop through the resitor 4 at the diode 5. This voltage drop is presented across the load resistor 6 in addition to the low DC voltage of the amount of the forward voltage drop of the diode 1. Thus, there can be obtained a DC voltage proportional to the AC input voltage between both terminals of the load resistor 6 and the diode 5 in series circuit.
