Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the iron loss of a transformer having 3-phase laminated core formed at least of 3 legs by increasing the ratio of magnetic permeabilities in a rolling direction to lateral direction at the cores of both side legs larger than that of a center leg of the transformer. CONSTITUTION:Cores 2 of both side legs of a transformer are formed of a material having low iron loss and high magnetic permeability with respect to rolling direction such as Hi-B material. Core 1 of center leg is, for example, formed of a general material to reduce the overhang of a magnetic flux, thereby suppressing the increase in the iron loss due to the overhang of the magnetic flux. In thus manner, the low iron loss can be provided in a transformer.
