Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid damaged linearity due to the leakage of magnetic flux by controlling the distribution thereof with an exciting coil surrounded by a magnetic shielding body partially having slits. CONSTITUTION:An exciting coil 18 provided between circular cores 10 and 12 opposite to each other is surrounded on the circumference thereof with a magnetic shielding body 30. A part of the magnetic shielding body 30 is provided with slits 32. A circular magnetic shielding plate 34 is arranged over the entire opposite surface of a clearance 14 of the circular cores 10 and 12. An alternating output is drawn from a detection coil 20 according to the position of rotation on the rotary axis 26 of the coil 20 wound on the circular core 10.
