Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid damaged linearity due to the leakage of magnetic flux by controlling the distribution thereof with an exciting coil surrounded by a magnetic shielding body partially having slits. CONSTITUTION:An exciting coil 18 provided between circular cores 10 and 12 opposite to each other is surrounded on the circumference thereof with a magnetic shielding body 30. A part of the magnetic shielding body 30 is provided with slits 32. A circular magnetic shielding plate 34 is arranged at a clearance of the circular cores 10 and 12 in which a short circuit ring 22 provided on the circular core 10 turns. The short circuit ring 22 or one of magnetic flux detection elements provided on the core 10 are rotated to draw a signal according to the angle of rotation from the magnetic flux detection element.
