Abstract
PURPOSE:To ahieve a highly accurate detection of rotary displacement at a wide angle by providing a magnetic shielding plate between two circular cores to vary the opposite surfaces of the circular cores. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic shielding plate 30 is so arranged along a circular core 10 or 12 opposite to each other starting from the center of an exciting coil 18 that opposite surfaces of the circular cores 10 and 12 decrease or increase gradually. A magnetic flux via opposite surfaces of the circular cores 10 and 12 after generated in the exciting coil 18 interlinks a detection coil 20 wound on the circular core 10. The detection coil 20 produces outputs corresponding to the angle theta of rotation.
