Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the response property of remaining fuel indication by reducing the variation in remaining fuel sensing signal by longer averaging time during the running, and measuring the remaining fuel sensing signal by the short averaging time during the refueling or before the starting of an engine. CONSTITUTION:The remaining fuel sensing signal is obtained by the remainig fuel sensor 1, and said signal is applied to an RC oscillator 2, and converted into a frequency. Said oscillated frequency is divided by a divider 3. The divided frequency is averaged by counters 6 or 7 which can be switched by a switch 5 based on a signal from the position identifier 4' of an ignition switch 4. The averaged output is supplied to an operating part 8, and the remaining fuel is indicated by an display 9. The counters 6 and 7 have the different number of pulses by which the inputs are averaged. During the running, the counter 6 which perform longer averaging is used, and during the refuelling or before the starting of the engine, the counter 7 performing short averaging is used.
