Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the ignition timing of an engine promptly and correctly by a method wherein a means to emit a timing light under staggering the phase thereof with respect to a standard signal synchronized with the revolution of a crank shaft and a means to indicate the staggered phase angle with an advanced angle graduation are provided in the captioned device. CONSTITUTION:An operator sets a variable voltage VB1, corresponding to a time interval t1 suitable for the advanced angle, near a substantially regular value by operating the volume of a variable resistor 2, brings the engine to an idling condition, and illuminates the hallmark of advanced angle zero on a fly wheel with the timing light to search for the stationary image thereof.
