Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce welding width and enable compactness by providing a number of longitudinal ribs on both ends of a synthetic resin film which has porosity and thermoplasticity, fusing these ribs, and forming a bag-type separator. CONSTITUTION:A rib 2 which is used jointly with a spacer is provided on one side of a synthetic resin film 1 with porosity and thermoplasticity along the longitudinal direction of a plate and a number of short pitch welding ribs 5 that are smaller than the rib 2 are provided in parallel on both right and left ends of the film 1. Then a bag-type separator is formed by bending the rib 2 into two from the center and fusing the rib 5 by means of the high frequency or ultrasonic welding. As a result, the welding margin can substantially be reduced, thereby providing the separator with full strength. The welding energy can be reduced and an assemble element be designed compactly.
