Abstract
1,059,004. Batteries. VARTA A.G. May 14, 1965 [May 16, 1964; Aug. 14, 1964], No. 20573/65. Heading H1B. Positive and negative electrodes 1, 2 are separated by partition members 3 and provide along the whole of their length solid metal rims 4, 5 projecting on opposite sides, such that when the electrodes are rolled into cylindrical form (Fig. 2, not shown) the metal rims 4, 5 project so as to be weldable to terminal posts (7), (8), respectively, at each end face of the cylinder. Each rim is welded at various positions (6) to an opposite adjacent part of the rim of an adjacent electrode of the same polarity (Fig. 3, not shown). The terminal posts have grooves (9) assisting in making good welded contact between the posts and the metal rims (Fig. 4, not shown).
