PURPOSE:To improve anti-leakage of liquid by forming a sealing insulating packing into a cross-sectional L-shaped one, providing a groove on its external surface, and injecting and filling hot-melt type bonding agent from the open end of the groove. CONSTITUTION:A manganese dioxide alkaline storage battery is formed by providing a pellet-shaped positive electrode flux 2 at the bottom of a case 1, arranging a gel negative electrode 3 through a separator 4 and an electrolyte impregnating layer 5, and caulking and sealing the insulating packing 7 on a metallic sealing plate 6 by means of the case 1. In this case, the packing 7 is formed into a cross-sectional L-shaped one and a groove 7a is provided on its external surface. After its caulking, polyamide resin 8 which is synthesized by dimer acid and polyacrylamide polyacryldiamin is injected in the groove 7a. Thus it fully penetrates into even a fine gap. As a result, excellent bonding force can be produced and the anti-leakage of liquid be improved sharply.
