Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superior metallic padding material for gas corrosion prevention for austenitic stainless steel in the sea by using Ni as an essential component and then by containing specific amounts of one or two kinds of Cr and Mo, and Si and B, or further one kind or two kinds or more of Nb, Ta, Ti, etc. CONSTITUTION:This is alloy consisting essentially of Ni and containing one kind or two kinds of 20-35% Cr and 3-8% Mo, and 1-4% Si and 1-4% B, or Ni group alloy further containing not less than one kind of Nb, Ta and Ti more than ten times as nuch as the C contents (providing that as to Ti, the double of its contents should be more than ten times the C contents). This shows superior characteristics as a metallic padding material for preventing the gap corrosion of austenitic stainless steel used in the sea.
