Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of joining by preventing oxidation during manufacture of a clad steel plate by expelling the residual air from part of an unwelded part through cold rolling under a slight pressure after welding and fixing edges of butt surfaces of a base material and plywood and the by performing hot rolling. CONSTITUTION:A base material and/or plywood having butt surfaces cleaned by facing, polishing finishing, etc., is plated with Ni, the both are superposed mutually and while part of the surface is left unwelded as an air hole, edges of the butt surfaces are welded and fixed. Next, the cold pressuring, such as cold rolling under a slight pressure, of the base material and plywood in the said state is performed to expel a little air remaining between the butt surfaces. Next, this air hole is repaired by being welded to obtain an assembly slab having the entire circumference welded, which after being heated to a prescribed temperature, is rolled to a prescribed plate thickness to manufacture a clad steel plate. Namely, a defective in joining due to oxidation at the butt surfaces caused by the residual air is prevented to improve the yield of joining remarkably.
