Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a clad steel plate superior in joining strength, by preliminarily interposing air absorbing materials between a clad material and an intermediate material as well as between the intermediate material and a base metal to form a slab. CONSTITUTION:A clad material 11 is subjected to the grooving work, and faces to be fayed of the clad material 11 and a base metal 12 are polished and degreased. An intermediate material 13 is arranged between the clad material 11 and the base metal 12, and air absorbing materials 14 are arranged on both faces at end parts of the intermediate material 13. A peripheral junction line between the clad material 11 and the base metal 12 is welded with an air discharging hole 15 left as it is, and an assembled slab is cold-rolled. At this time, air between faces fayed to each other is extruded from the air discharging hole 15. After cold rolling, the air discharging hole 15 of the slab is welded. Next, when this slab is heated up to the rolling temperature in a heating furnace, air absorbing materials 14 react with residual air to absorb residual air. The heated slab is hot-rolled; and it is rolled along the insertion direction of the intermediate material 13 in initial several passes and is rolled ordinarily after that, thus producing a clad steel plate.
