Abstract

PURPOSE: To nearly equalize the life of a heat transfer surface on the side of the high-temperature gas by a method wherein a rotor is rotated temporarily or continuously and thereby the heat transfer surface of a heat pipe is evenly eroded and thinned.
CONSTITUTION: In the case when a heat transfer surface is eroded or blocked up seriously, the blow-off of soot is performed by rotating a rotor 28 at the angle of about 180 degrees at intervals of proper fixed time or by rotating the same for a fixed time. This enables the equalization of the life of the heat transfer surface and the cleaning thereof, simplifies the structure of the rotor 28 and of the support for the rotor 28, and lessens a necessary driving power. Although there sometimes occurs something wrong with the device due to the thermal transformation of the rotor 28 when the rotor is not rotated, depending on the size, operational conditions, etc. of a heat exchanger, the practical wrong order can be avoided by rotating the rotor continuously in such a rotational number that brings about the low speed thereof at the rotational angle of 360° or less per 1min.
