Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the fluid quantity without using a probe for measuring the dielectric constant, by connecting in series the fixed capacitor of prescribed capacity in the detecting circuit of the sensing capacitor set in the fluid to be measured.
CONSTITUTION: A sensing capacitor 13 is inserted in the container 12 which contains the fluid to be measured. Sensing capacitor 13, fixed capacitor 17 and ammeter 21 are connected in series to a side of the secondary circuit of the transformer 19 to which an alternate current source 18 is connected at the primary circuit side, and the other side of the ammeter 21 is connected to the middle point of the secondary side and grounded. The other side of the secondary circuit is connected to the ammeter 21 via capacitor 22. The capacity of the fixed condenser should be preset to B.CD, where B is the prescribed constant which is determined by the density D and dielectric coefficient K of the fluid to be measured. CD is the total dry capacity of the sensing capacitor 13. By measuring the current of the ammeter 21, the height H of the fluid to be measured is calculated. Accordingly, the fluid quantity can be measured without using the probe for measuring the dielectric constant.
