Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform welding of high reliability only by arc heat without preheating a base material, by dividing a welded part into small sections and by welding them mutually by padding every small section into multilayers successively and locally.
CONSTITUTION: Grooves 5 is formed by making base materials 1 and 2 butt together so that edges 3 and 4 oppose to each other. Next, groove 5 is divided lenghtwise into small sections and multilayer padding is locally performed with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th padding layers 10a, 10b, 10c, and 10d so that groove 5 in the 1st small section 10 at one end is filled. Next, local multilayer padding is carried out in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th small sections 11, 12, 13... successively and similarly. Previously welded padding layers are mutually welded to padding layers to be welded newly by being melted by arc heat and those padding layers continue eventually.
