Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a commutation efficiency without using a commutating capacitor by a method wherein a DC power source for a commutation bias is obtained from auxiliary windings of an output transformer and led to a thyristor bridge, in the self-exciting type inverter in which thyristors are used. CONSTITUTION:Main thyristors 20-23 connected in antiparallel with diodes 24- 27 for a fly-wheel respectively are provided in bridge-connection between the DC power source 28 and the output transformer 29. One side ends of the auxiliary windings 29C, 29D of the output transformer 29 are connected to the positive side and negative side of the DC power source 28, respectively, and the diodes 30, 31 and capacitors 32, 33 constitute the DC power source for the commutation bias. When the semiconductor switching element 34 having the self-arc-suppressing ability and the thyristor 36 are made continuous, the current from the main thyristor 20 is commutated in the routes of the capacitor 32, switching element 34, thyristor 36, winding 40A of a current transformer, and then, the main thyristor 20 is turned OFF.
