Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a commutation efficiency without using a commutation capacitor by a method wherein voltage generated at taps of an output transformer provided with center-taps are made arc-suppressing voltages of thyristors, in the self-exciting inverter with the thyristors. CONSTITUTION:Main thyristors 20-23 are provided in bridge-connection between a DC power source 24 and the output transformer 25. The transformer 25 has the center-taps C, D in the primary winding, the center-tap terminals C, D are connected with output terminals of the thyristors 26-29 which are bridge-connected, and further, the diodes 30-33 for the fly-wheel are bridge-connected between the DC power source 24 and the center-tap terminals. In addition, the semiconductor switching elements 34, 35 with the self-arc-suppressing capability are connected between input terminals of the thyristors 26-29 and the power source 24. With the continuities of the switching elements 34, 35 and the thyristors 26, 29, the main thyristors 20, 23 are turned OFF by the voltage generated in the transformer.
