Abstract

1,018,027. Inverting. WILLEM SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V. July 8, 1964 [July 9, 1963], No. 28208/64. Heading H2F. In an inverter arrangement of the type in which a sinusoidal output is built up from 30 degrees phaseshifted rectangular voltages supplied from the secondaries of inverter-fed transformers, six transformers are provided to give secondary rectangular voltages in the ratio of 1 : 1 + #3 : 2 + #3 : 2 + #3 :1 + #3 : 1. Fig. 3 shows a 3- phase arrangement in which the six windings are repeated for each of the remaining phases but being displaced cyclically to give voltages in the ratio of 2+#3 : 2+#3 : 1+#3 &c. and 1+#3 : 1 : 1 : 1 + #3 &c. In a singlephase arrangement with only one transformer secondary winding per inverter, the inverters may be connected on the primary side in groups of equal power, such as parallel connected groups of A<SP>1</SP>B<SP>1</SP>C<SP>1</SP> in series with the parallel group D<SP>1</SP>E<SP>1</SP>F<SP>1</SP> or parallel groups of A<SP>1</SP>B<SP>1</SP> and E<SP>1</SP>F<SP>1</SP> in series with C<SP>1</SP> and D<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 5 and 6, not shown), by this means different output voltages may be produced from a fixed supply.
