Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain arbitrary asymmetric square voltage, by forming this device in such a manner that a pair of direct current power source devices, which voltage can be adjusted, are connected in parallel so that the devices mutually become to anti-polarity to load and load currents are interrupted at a fixed cycle by connecting a pair of switchgears in series with these direct current power source devices.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of direct current voltage sources are constituted by connecting each alternating current input terminal of the first converter 12 and the second converter 14 to secondary winding and tertiary winding, which are mutually insulated, of a transformer 10. The first chopper 20 and the second chopper 22 commutate thyristors in the choppers by means of commutation reactors and commutation condensers built in each chopper. Each crest value of the positive waves and negative waves of single-phase alternating current wave-forms is adjusted in the desired value by regulating each output voltage of the first and second converters 12, 14 and by adjusting each interrupted cycle of the first and second choppers 20, 22.
