Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a minute treated alloy layer with an excellent adhesivity and corrosion resistivity by aluminum diffusion osmosis of a porous layer formed on the metal material from the chrome plated layer through electrolyzation thereof with inversion of the polarity in the layer after it is made by electric plating.
CONSTITUTION: A metal material 1 is chrome plated by the normal electric plating method to form a chrome-plated layer 2. Then, the layer is electrolyzed with the inversion of the polarity in the layer, that is, from the negative at the electric plating to positive. A dissolution takes place in fine chracks on the chrome-plated layer to form a highly porous chrome-plated layer 2'. The normal aluminum diffusion osmosis applied here produces a treated layer comprising the aluminum-chrome alloy diffused layer 11 and a layer 12 higher in the aluminum concentration.
