Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the radiative heat transmission in the lower zone of combustion and enhance the heating efficiency of slab by providing a duct in the lower part of combustion zone in the continuous heating of a slab in a heating surface with one or more of combustion zone and furnace hips.
CONSTITUTION: The slab 7 is charged into a continuous heating furnace with a combustion zone consisting of the uniform heating zone 1, the heating zone 2, and the preheating zone 3 and the furnace hip portion 4 and heated.
